Or at least what we think you’re frequently asking yourself…

What time does the wedding start?*

We’ve gotten a few questions as the invite says the wedding starts at 6:00, but the schedule states a 5:00 ceremony. In Mexico (at least in Henry’s experience???) folks outside some family and close friends will often skip the ceremony. If you’d like to join the ceremony, we’d love to have you! We just put the time for the party as that’s usually the expectation. Cocktail hour starts at 6:00, and we’ll transition to the reception at 7:00.

What time does the wedding end?*

Most places in Mexico don't have the same restrictions on when venues need to close as we do in the States. So… we’ll be going to 4am! We will have food & coffee/coffee-based beverages to assist with that endeavor. Bring that party spirit!

What is the dress code?

Semi-Formal/Cocktail attire. Even Formal if you’d like! It can get a little chilly in the evening in Mexico City, so consider being prepared for that.

Is tap water safe to drink?

Henry tried once and recommends against it! Seriously, stick with bottled water.

If I’m new to visiting Mexico City, what are some Neighborhoods to visit or stay in?

Mexico City is massive, with so much to explore. But if you’re a gringo and new to exploring Mexico City, here are some neighborhoods to start off with:

  • Roma Norte

  • La Condesa/Hipódromo

  • Centro

  • Juarez

  • Polanco/Bosque de Chapultepec

  • Coyoacán

By chance, is Mexico City at a high elevation?

In fact, it is! Please be mindful that the venue (and the city center as a whole) is at just over 7,300 feet in elevation. That’s higher than any US mountain east of the Rockies! So wear sunscreen, know your limits with your consumption, and as always: stay hydrated!

Do I have a plus one?

Your invite will state the number of people in your party. If you are curious before receiving the invite feel free to reach out.

Is the wedding inside or outside?*

The ceremony & reception are inside. The cocktail hour will be outside in a courtyard.

Will I, an adult human, be able to drink my beverage from a sippy cup?

Why yes! You may! Sippy cups are commonplace handouts when dancing starts to allow you to boogie without worrying about dropping a glass on the dancefloor.

What are our transportation options to and from the venue?*

We are renting two sprinter vans that can shuttle people to starting at 10:00pm. They will stop at the hotels and can drop folks off in some nearby neighborhoods. They will run till 4:00am. We will have more details soon.

Ubers are abundant and cheap in Mexico City, and will likely be the best option if a van is unavailable or unable to drop you off close to your destination.

The Venue will have valet parking if you choose to drive. If you are an American reading this and are considering driving: we look forward to hearing your stories of driving in CDMX! It’s definitely an adventure for the uninitiated.

Is there something happening the day after?*

Yes there is! We will be celebrating with a “Hangover Party” at 1:00pm on Sunday, November 10. It’s called as such to help fix your existing one and/or jumpstart a new one if you so desire. Please reach out to Henry or Ale if you’d like further details!
